Black australorp 17-18 weeks is this a rooster or a hen

I really want to say pullet looking at size, comb/wattle, body, everything... but she is growing some very strange feathers near her tail. They look almost somewhere between male and female plumage. But... at this age any cockerel should be dead obvious, so I'm going to say hen with a bit of freaky feathering.

Thanks DD - I'm a bit better with the breeds of chicken we have in Kenya, as for "proper" breeds, I treat is as sport - as you say, I have as much chance as a chimp of getting it right

These look like pure Australians. I'm going with pullet. When you pull the wing out does it resemble the first wing or second.
