Black Australorp Cockerels-Have Bumps on their Combs

    We have about 10 Black Australorp cockerels that we are feeding out for the freezer. We incubated them ourselves from our own flock. They have developed some wort-looking bumps on their combs. It has been extremely hot here lately in East Texas. I need some idea if this is a serious condition or not. Their combs are also not bright red or waxy. I have been feeding them Game Bird crumbles, very high in protein for about 2 months.

    Yes, that picture resembles what my chickens look like. I read the info you referenced; However, I am wondering if it is OK to dress these chickens out for our freezer once they are healed up. ?
