I have 3 australorps and one just crowed this morning 6 times- I couldn’t see who was crowing- I thought I had all hens?? Here are some pictures, can anyone help distinguishing a rooster?

That strong red comb and wattle formation makes me think you have all roos. Could we get a picture of the sides of the chickens to confirm?

In short, we might have saddle feathers appearing about this age if we have roosters.

Newish to raising chickens and need some advice... I have a 12-13 week old Black Australorp and "she" (per hatchery) started making this noise today, not quite full cockle-doodle-doo, but not a squawk. Watch link for picture and video of noise (at 5 sec).
Could "she" be:
1. A "he", a full on rooster that will not lay eggs and will drive my neighbors nuts OR
2. A hen that has gone full alpha but will still lay eggs
Am I missing anything?

Thanks!

That's what my boy sounded like when he first started crowing. But I have not heard a hen crow before so I'm not sure if sounds the same.

That seems to be a rooster. My black Australorp rooster sounded the exact same when he was first learning to crow. It also looks like a roo. The crow will even out and get deeper and more complete as he gets older and gets the hang of crowing more 😉

At that age, with a comb and wattles like that, you have a cockerel.

Welcome to BYC!
