Hello Im new to BYC. I am a middle school aged student and I am a bird lover. I was wondering if it was possible to buy a very rare black breasted button quail here in america. I know that some people in Australia sell them. I've conducted tons of research and couldn't find anything. thank you

Are you refering to the 'true' button quail or the chinese quail (like the one in your profile pic) that are simply referred to as button quail? In the latter case, I've never heard of a black breasted, in the first case I've never heard of them being kept in captivity.

I believe this is a true button quail. The black breasted looks like this.[IMG]

Yeah, true button quail it is. I've never heard of anyone keeping them - except for a single thread on here where someone in Australia had caught one (not a black breasted though) and wanted to know what bird it was. That is, until I googled it and found this: http://www.zebrafinch.com/NewButtonquail/TrueButtonQuail.html
It doesn't sound like it's going to be easy to find them..
