Black Cochin 10/11 weeks old - hen or roo?

    I've gotten mixed feedback on this Cochin's gender. He/she is one of my sweetest most affectionate birds with me but has recently started facing off with my other cochin so I'm gettingconcerned.

    Hen. The neck and back feathers look rounded not pointed

    That's a rooster, mine don't have any combs at that age.

    agree I don't think hackle or saddle feathers show up that early, so I'd judge the comb.

    It's a cockerel. He's just a bit too young for the male hackle and saddle feathers. Give it another 2 or 3 weeks, and it will be glaringly obvious.
