Black Cochin chicks

    I have two new black cochins. they were hatched aug 7, 2018. i am hoping for a hen and roo. does anyone know anything about them?

    If one of the babies is getting wing feathers, while the other has none or just one or two popping out then they could be hen and roo. Or you could look at their tails when they start to get pin feathers in. Roos will have all one sized pin feathers while hens will have two sizes.

    What are you asking about them?
    You will not be able to tell their sex until they are older.

    they may not be black cochin's, they are prob partridge Cochin judging by the wing colors.
    Could be wrong but in Australia ours are all black

    Cochins tend to be pretty docile and broody. They are not heat hardy.​
