Hello!
I am very new to this discussion.
One of my hens (a three year old seemingly very healthy Amberlink) has recently passed. I am devastated. A few days prior I noticed her comb had black spots on it. I did quarantine her in a section in the run with food and water and a box for shelter. I couldn't afford to take her to the vet, so please don't make me feel more guilty than I already am. I just would like to know what was wrong with her so I'm not living in constant guilt and confusion. I will add a pic. Can anyone help me?? Sorry, it's the clearest pic I have.

EDIT: I totally forgot to include major details. The day before she passed she couldn't move. If she tried to stand, she would collapse. It was like she was partially paralyzed. Also she was breathing heavily through the mouth. She seemed heavily exhausted. She also had some stringy mucus (???) coming out of her beak. When I held her, her abdomen felt like a water balloon, big, and kind of squishy, a little tough. Not sure if she was egg bound as I hadn't seen any of her eggs in a couple weeks. Also not sure if it was a respiratory infection considering none of the other girls are sick...
Any ideas? I tried to include everything I could think of. Your feedback is VERY well appreciated.
