Black Copper Maran? Welsummer? Barnevelder?

Last summer we bought a variety of chicks and I don't know what breed this one is. There seem to be a lot of breeds with this type of colouring. I tried to ask the breeder whom I bought it from here in Nova Scotia, but I haven't heard back from them. Does anybody know?

Thanks. What makes you say poorly coloured? Do you think he's likely a mix?

Not necessarily a mix, but he should have a solid black chest. All that copper he's got is not a desirable trait for the Black Copper variety.

I see. To me personally, I would think more colour and less black would make him more aesthetically appealing. When you say it's an undesirable trait, is that because he's atypical?
