Black copper Maran?

Hello, I have a picture of my old rooster, who is no longer with us. I’m just wondering what breed he was. I used to think welsummer, but with more digging, I found he looks more like a copper maran. He had some disease on his legs, which would every now and then crack up and bleed, and feathers didn’t grow much. I believe he would have had feathered legs, but they didn’t grow much. Any ideas what breed he was?

I got a bantam from a friend last year that had scaley mites. A couple of days slicking his legs up with bag balm solved that issue, plus dusting his roost with sevin. No more problem.

He was super old anyway. At least 11 years

Now that I think about it, the hens that were with him, did end up having it as well, but we killed those hens a few weeks ago. Thanks for that advice, I’ll keep it in mind.
