I hatched a few black copper marans
From black hen and roo with black feathers on their feet

What baffles me is that the chicks have grey feathers on their feet ..why is that ? The person i bought the hen and roo from said they have blue genes could that be why the chicks have grey feathers ? Could they be half blue coppers?

Your bcm hen and roo cant be half blue copper. They could of came from blues but they dont carry any blue genes.
    0 blue genes = black
    1 blue gene = blue
    2 blue genes = splash
If they carry blue they would be blue. 2 blacks cant produce blue or a black that carries blue.
I have no answer for your chicks. A pic may help. Maybe the leg feathers are black but appear blue since the legs are so lightly feathered compared to the rest of the chick?
Maybe one of the adults is really a very very dark blue and produced very very dark chicks?
