Black copper Marans Roo?

    For a while I thought this was a hen because comb and stuff were not quite as big or red as the others.. But today I looked and feel more like this is a rooster! What do you think?

    That one does look more like a hen than a roo though

    Wow. If it has a comb like that, it's gotta be a roo! Check maybe on a Marans thread, too, though.

    This was a couple weeks ago with the others.. I got 5 "hen" bit i I think 4 are roos, but thought maybe this one was hen

    Check their wings thoroughly. Any gold/copper/red in the shoulder or wing is a sure indicator of male.
    You were swindled. Those all look like males.

    Ordered these from my pet chicken.. Which uses myer hatchery. I won't order from them again.

    This one is the same age Blue copper Marans and for sure is a hen.. I didn't know if the Black copper had naturally larger combs or something.. Now I get to find homes for 5 Roosters.. Spent $10.25 a piece, plus $65 shipping, 10 weeks of feed! Makes me a bit mad.. Live and learn!
