My rooster seems to have black fungus on crown and around eye area. Does anyone know what this may be and what treatment I should give him. Thanks!

Sorry to inform everyone, but I had to put my magnificent and great white Leghorn rooster, Martin, down today. We believe he had cancer and was in bad shape. He was the best rooster and only rooster I have owned and he lived to be 5-6 years old. He was a unique rooster and really took care of his hens. He was always full of great rooster character. I can say he appreciated and loved his hens. I've never known a rooster who cared, protected, and even shared his food with his hens. In his later years he even allowed me to carry him around. It may sound crazy to some folks, but I really loved that rooster. I will surely miss him, especially his early morning crowing wake up call and I will carry the memories he left behind for me to remember. I'll never forget my feathered friend Martin. He was one of a kind. Yes, he was.
