Closely smell her nostrils and let us know if you smell a foul odor. While you're at it, open her mouth and smell her breath and look for any lesions, especially at the roof of her mouth.

Thank you, its actually my neighbours chook that I was trying to help her with. I think she was in a wild panic yesterday as after taking a better look at her this afternoon, it seems it was really stubborn dirt, that she hadn't tried wiping off properly. Chook seems okay now, but I've suggested she keep a close eye on it.
