My 7-week-olds were picking and eating feathers, so I put out parakeet grit and sprinkled a couple of handfuls of black oil sunflower seeds around the litter in the coop. They dove right in and finished the seeds off fast, but now I'm wondering if they're still too young for that?

    I'm always second-guessing myself. [IMG]

My mama hens start pointing those out to the babies right off the bat. they gobble up the little ones. So far all have been fine. They all have access to sand/grit so I suppose that helps.

What kind are your 7 week olds and why don't we have pictures? [IMG]
