Black or blue copper maran sex?

I have 2 5-6 week old blue or black copper marans (not sure if blue or black) that I think are cockerels. I am new to chickens and any help would be awesome! Both have copper feathering coming in around the neck. Thanks!

They both look blue to me, and they both appear to be boys based on how big the wattles are for 5-6 weeks, and how pink the combs. But what kind of comb does the 2nd one have? Is that all Marans?

For comparison, here are our Black and Blue Copper Marans boys, both 6.5 weeks right now.

Thank-you! The second one has a red comb but it's much smaller. She looks more like a blue maran too.

I agree, assuming it's not mixed and from a hatchery. Also check for yellow skin!

All three are cockerels. Only the first is a Marans.

It looks like it's all up in the air right now anyway I do see blue in the first set of pics but more black in the 2nd. It can be a pretty a subtle difference at that age.

It does look like chick #2 has a rose comb, which could be a Wyadotte thang. Where did you get them?

I got them from a friend of a friend. Both came from the same hen and roo .
