I had a chick hatch today that I thought was solid black until we picked it up from the incubator and moved it to the brooder. We then realized that it has some white on its belly. Can black sex link pullets have some white on their stomachs? Mine looks like the black sex link chick pictures I looked up, but no one said anything about white underneath. Also, I may have a red sex link chick hatch from a silver-laced wyandotte hen with a RIR roo. First of all, what is that chick called? and what would the pullet chick and cockerel chick of this combination look like? I am hatching some RIR chicks, so would I be able to tell the difference between my RIR chicks and a red sexlink chick? Thanks.
