When she was young, I thought she was a black sexlinked. I was corrected and told she was an australorp. Now I am thinking BSL again. What do you think?[IMG]

Definitely a Black Sex-link. Australorps don't have the red coloring on their neck and breast, but that is a defining characteristic of most BSLs.

She's a Black Sex-Link. As Bantamlover21 stated, Australorps shouldn't have that red coloring on the neck and breast.

I made 4 black sex link hens last spring from barred rocks and black jersey giants and 2 ended up with the red leakage on their necks, just like yours.

Good to know! She is a sweet girl, one of my favorites.

I've got one black sex linked that looks similar to yours. And she's the friendliest of the flock. If I try to lock them up up for the night a little early she keeps popping out of the coop to say hi and see if I've got any treats. This is the first bsl I've raised, and if she's a good layer, I may try to have these as the majority of my flock.
