black sex links

    If you use a mixed male that is solid red, will it still make sex links?

    I know the mother was a production red but I'm not sure about the father.

    Then it's hard to say for sure, but you could probably give it a try and find out! The sex linked barring is dominant, so if the roo doesn't show any barring at all, he doesn't have the barring gene, and theoretically is suitable for use with a barred hen to make the black sex link chicks. But the only way to find out for sure is to try it!
