So my rooster has this black spot on his wattle. When I managed to get him it seems to open up, like his wattle has a second wattle growth? It’s weird. But the inside was black and brownish. I don’t know, the photos can do better than I at describing haha.
It’s weird it’s like a pocket on his wattle and it’s a little black on the outside edges and all black on the interior with some brown.
He’s a sapphire gem Roo.
About 18-19 weeks roughly.
He is marked for culling due to unnecessary roughness with baby chicks and because I have too many roosters. Just not sure if this is something I need to treat the flock for or not?

I caught him again and took a closer look, it does somewhat resemble a scab, and when I gave a slight tug to see what happened it did peel away a bit so I stopped.
I had 7 Roos and I’m down to 5 now. After he goes it will be four which I think is a good number for 30ish hens
I just want to make sure no one else is at danger of anything. I’ve read some bad tales of diseases and stuff so figured it’s better to ask :)

If you have anything like vetericyn you could probably use that to help healing (I believe that should help?) That is if you're planning to sell, if he's going to freezer camp then a scab on his wattle shouldn't matter ;) it really doesn't look like anything bad to me, just an unfortunate spot to have gotten a scratch!

Ok! Thanks so much :)

My roosters used to have these from time to time.. They were 'boo-boos' from getting on eachother nerves.
