Hi all.
we have three hens. All have got black spots/scabs on their combs. Our black one has it the worst. Would anyone know what this is. Could it be frostbite? If so any advise would be great. Thankyou all.

Brilliant thankyou. Would you advise putting anything on the comb? Thanks
I had this too earlier this winter when they were all adjusting to being "cooped" up and not being able to get outside due to weather. I'm pretty sure it's pecking. On my chicken that had the most severe, I put on some Blue Kote - it's salve-like consistancy and has a wonderful smell - like TeaTree oil. Seemed to help a bit. The rest, I just left alone as they all figured it out and no one was really worse for the wear.
