Neighbor sent me this and among the pages, I found this little gem. Just look at those prices!
Cool! What's up with the wax for "comb foundation"?
Neato! Comb formation pertains to beehives. Ward's and Sears sold everything back then!
I thought it chicken combs! DUH!
Hey, Ideal Poultry, were you the hatchery they used? I know Ideal was in business in the 30's, but not sure about that early in the 30's.
I know sears was still selling chicks, ducking, and bees in the 60s.
Those prices may look low ......but my grandfather work then for....1.10 per day.in the coal mines
As late as the 1980s Sears was still selling chickens.
Maybe later, but that was the last time I saw a Sears Farm and Ranch catalog.
Oh, I remember the Sears Farm & Ranch catalog, now that you mention it. I still want to know which hatchery they shipped from in 1931. Anyone have any ideas?
That is very neat! Thanks for sharing!
I just love these old ads.
