Blood found on one egg???

I gather eggs daily and last week one of the eggs had blood on it. Now a week later I have a chicken not feeling very well. I noticed her bottom area has lost some feathers and she is staying inside the coop and not very energetic.She kind of has a lttle crusty feathers there and we cleaned most of the stuff off her. I did watch her drink some water this afternoon. Do you think the egg with blood was possibly hers? She is only a year old and is always friendly and busy little one. Hate to see her hurting. Any suggestions would help, Thanks, Valerie

Did you check her for lice? A little blood on an egg is really nothing to be concerned about, but if you have a girl feeling bad, it could have been her or maybe a coincidence. If she still isn't acting right, you should separate her in case she is sick.

I will check her tomorrow. If she does how do you treat lice. I have 10 chickens total and they all are healthy except she has become very unactive. I keep their coop clean and change shavings weekly in their coop. Thanks for your help, Valerie
