Is it normal to have blood in an egg when there isn't a rooster with them?
It happens. Sometimes a blood vessel breaks as the yolk is released from the ovary.
Quote:Okay thanks. I was thinking something like that might have happened. Is it okay to eat or should it be scooped out?
If it doesn't bother you, eat it. It won't hurt you.
Happened most as my production reds started laying, but hasn't happened recently.
