I collected eggs today from the nest box of my two amber girls. One egg had a smear of blood on it, also small spot of bloody gung in the nest box. I know which bird the egg is from so checked her over and can see nothing untoward on her. She is her normal self eating drinking normal poop and free ranging ok. Does any one have any ideas what this could be? Any advice very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Sometimes a hen will have a hard time laying an egg, or a blood vessel will rupture in the oviduct. As long as she's acting fine, she probably is. Just watch for any more bloody eggs, or strange eggs.
