My EE, Bitzi, has been "on strike" for a while now, but this morning I found one of her eggs and it has quite a bit of blood on the outside. I caught her (much to the displeasure of her sisters) and checked her over, finding nothing abnormal. Is this just because she hasn't been laying or do I need to make a run to the vet?

It happens time to time with laying hens i had one (deleware) that had blood on her egg. It happened once and nothing the next time i be more concerned if it was a regular thing.

Ditto.
Some times a small vessel can break during laying. As long as it's not a regular occurrence and it's not lots of blood it's probably not a worry.

Thanks guys! If I see something strange the first thing I think is "VETVETVETVETVETVET!" Lol I'll keep an eye on her and update if anything else happens.
