So I’m new here and found y’all when googling some info on blood rings. I have a dozen eggs incubating for the first time. I did a ton of research before we set them but ya know real life is always harder lol. I have one that is either very behind in development or is a very odd blood ring. It’s an almost straight line not a ring. I’m attaching photos of the “bad” egg it has an X and one of its siblings has an O for comparison. They are on day 11 so I know if it’s bad it needs to come out before it explodes but I hate to toss a potentially good egg from my lack of experience

Day 11 you'd usually see more development, but it does look like veining in some photos, but with a ring around all of it. It may be a quitter, smell it. No stink give it another day or two and candle again. I smell the vent outlet to the incubator every day since I had my first egg explode.

I'm actually leaning towards late bloomer, I see other veins in the last picture

The ring does not go all the way around just the one up and down and no smells. There are 2 different eggs posted just as comparisons of the sibling egg that was set on the same day. The 2 photo of the X are one egg and the 2 of the O are a different egg, the sibling egg

Ok gotcha. Then yes the first two pictures look like development stopped. What happens is the veins collapse when development stops, then you often get a ring like shape, not always but it's the blurred texture that gives it away. However if it doesn't smell and there is no harm in giving it another day or so to be sure. Pictures are never as clear as an in person view while candling.

Yes it is their 11th 24 hour. And yes the temp is calibrated. In person the second egg is much more vascular and you can even see movement. But that y’all for a quick response. I’ll just watch it for another day or two and then throw it out if no further progress is made
