while gathering eggs yesterday, I discovered an egg that had a moderate ammount of dried blood on it. The egg was medium to large but not jumbo. I checked out my girls the best I could because they free range during the day. When I closed them in the coop last night I didn't see any unusual behavior. They have only been laying for about 6-8 weeks. Should I be concerned????? [IMG]

It happens occasionally. I check around my hen's vents if I find one with a noticable amount of blood, but have never seen a problem with it.

I've notice with my pullets and sometimes if the egg is pretty big. No problems though.
