Saw that my bantam BLR Wyandotte boy got hold of a bantam self blue Cochin girl and wondered what the chicks mite look like?
We had the same problem when we let our birds out of the breeder pens this summer. The BLR crossed with our standard cochins too. I popped some of the eggs in the incubator just for the heck of it. The crosses came out with some feathering on their legs (not as massive as a pure cochin), yellow skin, and a rose comb like a wyndotte. No lacing on the feathers in the first generation at least. I gave those chicks away and a friend of mine still has some. They have the body of a wyndotte, but the coloring of the cochin parents and still partial feathering on the legs.
