YippeeHippeeDippee! What a nice surprise from my NN Frizz green-egger pen. I've got my fingers crossed it's a boy!

i could have hatched it for you and it would have been a boy.... i have 9 for 9 out of a batch of slw...
  5. Thanks! I'm tickled! I have hatched several similar chicks from that pen, but they all have had feathered shanks and/or dark skin and/or extra toes and/or Naked Necks.

On this one chick, the genes lined up just right to start yet another project pen.
I wasn't expecting it because all the birds in the pen have Ameraucana blood, but none have beards/muffs. Surprise!
I was actually hovering over the hatcher when this one hatched and thought "drat! nice chick, but I want more NN's".
I take it back --- I like this one just like it is!!

  6. Oh! Thanks Dawn, but I do just fine hatching massive quantities of boys here.
From the way this one is feathering at 3 weeks-old, I'd say ITSABOY!
Bad luck with your SLW's [IMG] I know who to call on if I ever start hatching all girls and NEED more boys.
