I recently purchased a small flock of rare mixed breeds. Still trying to figure out what I have as My Pet Chicken does not tell you what chickens you are getting when you get this pkg. I think I have a blue cochin. Feathered feet, broad breasted , gentle. I will attach a pic soon. Thanks

Wow, could be an optical illusion, but she looks big for 5 weeks. Maybe I just don't realize how big my 10 week old barred rocks are.... Pretty chicken. I got a buff cochin last week, wanted a blue though. Maybe next time.

No optical illusion! She is big and she really is 5 weks old. Cookie is also bossy and appears that she has designated herself to br the queen of the flock. I also have a Polish, Alice, who is taller than Cookie but no where the weight or width. I think she looks so huge is because of all of the feathers.

I have 3 blue cochins and they were born May 14th and are still very small. Maybe the size of a softball. Is that normal?? Mine looks way smaller than Yaya's.

Cookie is my first and only blue cochin so I have nothing to compare her too. She is a large chick tho. Most of my other chicks have weight up with her on height but not in weight. There is also the "fluff" factor. I ordered a rare breed selection so i have 6 different breeds in my flock of 14. I am learning a lot about chickens in a short time frame

AH, ok. That makes sense. I will try to post a pic of mine. They just seem really miniature.
