  2. Her leg color is wrong I believe, but she's actually quite nice other than that! Her bloomers are lovely for an Orpington.
Is she pure Orp with those legs? I am nearly + that Orps must have white legs...

She might do well in a low key county fair, but I wouldn't show her in a breed class at a big show if her legs are off.

She's pretty. but I'm not into showing much. She could have more petticoat, is my first impression. Not sure if she's too leggy. Can't tell in the pics. Her leg color is correct, Pine Burrow, for a blue Orp. They should have slate legs and white skin. Is her plumage sort of brassy in spots or is she just a little dirty?

(Psst, there is no "h" in Orpington [IMG] )

I don't know much about showing, I like what i like. I think she's nice - like the fluffy bloomers. I personally would like a bit more difference in color between the feathers - neck vs body. I know some of mine have more definition with their lacing. But overall, I like her enough to buy her. I know there are plenty of others who know more about standard though....

The legs on the bird in the picture are fine...

sorry about the misspelling on that. I should have listened in class when I was a kid. LOL!

Thank you this gives me great pointers.

I will have my kiddos enter her and see how we do. haha! either they will like her or we tried and it was fun no matter what. haha!

I know nothing about the breed but as a completely unbiased third party forum reader, I think she's beautiful! [IMG] I am really enjoying looking at all the different photos of all the different breeds. I am raising just a few chicks (you can check out my sig line ... I won't bore you with the details) and I'm so interested now in looking at all the other types of chickens that I'm beginning to feel like a chicken voyeur! [IMG]

I am sure you guys will have a blast showing her. My son is almost five and is completely uninterested in our chicks. Well, they might captivate his attention for a few minutes at a time but nothing like I thought it would be. Consider yourself lucky to have kids who are interested! [IMG]

Again, good luck with her and have a great time!
