This is my first hatch, we have 3 blue orpington babies I was told, and possibly 2 copper marans.

My 2 cream legbar eggs didn't make it.

How can you tell what a splash looks like as a chick??

Or lavender? He had a lavendar roo.
    Thanks for any info.

    Hello!

Welcome to BYC and the coop! There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to join the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around BYC. I'm not familiar with those breeds. You have some beautiful chicks. So sorry for your losses, I wish you all the luck in the world with your other chicks.

Lavender breeds like black when bred to another color. Lavender is recessive, so you can only get the color if both parents are Lavender or split for it (carrying one copy).
You don't have any Black Copper Marans. They hatch out black.
The gray chick is Blue, the pale chicks are Splash.
