blue slate game hen

    i have a 5 month old game hen that looks like it has blue slate feathers comeing in would that come from a roo with white in his feathers?

    the mamma was brown this the only i have had out of mybe30 ot 40 biddes she hatched last year i just noticed it today if i wanted to build on this color would use a roo with more white in him? i use to breed buddgies i as rember blue would throw white and white sometimes would throw blue ?

    thanks now i know who the father is if i wanted to build on this color would i breed her back to her father or one of his offspring that carrys black

But I think to get the color you want your best bet is to breed to the father again, you should get some colored babies and then once you have more of that wanted color you can try crossing to siblings and experimenting.

    Blue comes from the blue gene, not from black. Blue dilutes black pigment. It can be hidden by white.
