Our lawn care guy brought his boys to help and they saw the rooster "attacking" the hen so they went over to aid the hen. They both got scared and the boys chased them. The hen flew the fence and met her fate in the jaws of the neighbors dog. So, our 1 year old bantum Blue Wheaton hen is no more. She was producing an egg a day and was well protected by our bantum blue wheaton rooster. Now we only have a rooster and a lonely one at that.
Do any of you all know anyone who's be willing to part with a couple of blue wheaton bantum hens? The guy I got these from a year ago is no longer around and he was local to Jackson, TN.
