These chickens cam from a batch of eggs labled as farmyard mix, For the past year i have thought the blue hen was a orpington x, However recently i have noticed she dosent look anything like the orpingtons i have, For a start she has 5 toes .. and her tail sticks up in the air unlike the others.

I have looked online for hens she resembles and im thinking she might be a bluebell?.. funny raily because that was her name (given by my neice)

    What do you think ??

Bluebell's are a French Maran & Rhode Island hybrid, so if it's a backyard mix...could very well be! Whatever she is, She's beautiful!!!

Didn't you say your bird has 5 toes? I can't see where crossing a Marans with a RIR would produce a bird with 5 toes. I can see a Dorking cross having 5 toes though.

Hi she looks just like my new bluebelle, I'm in the uk and that's what they are called here. What colour egg does your girl lay? Mine is young and I have no idea yet! :)
