I'm embarrassed to ask this but! Are black Orpingtons and Buff Orpingtons the same breed, just different colors? Do they have the same personalitys/broodiness/laying habits?

Quote:and varieties = colors...so Orpington is the breed. Orpingtons come in different varieties (colors) such as white, black, blue, buff, and other colors that are not recognised by the Standard of Profection.

Ok that's what I thought and was embarrassed to have to ask. Where the confusion came in is: I noticed different stats on black vrs. buff on laying rates, size, broodiness etc.

    Thank you!
