Looking for some solutions others have employed to protect a growing free range flock from a bobcat. We have lost six hens since the end of July. We have one rooster, six hens and eight month old chicks on two acres. Everyone is locked up at night but I must manually open the paddock before I leave for work each day, before dawn.

Electric fence or secure enclosure.
+1. At least until the bobcat gets shocked a time or two and moves on. Now that it knows there are chickens to be had on your property, it will not leave them alone until there are no more chickens. The only other option is to kill the bobcat.
