Our 9 chicks are all different breeds and the more info I read on the breeds the more I am getting to confused as to what we have!

Is there a good or other source out there on breed identification?

My favorite book is called Extraordinary Chickens by Stephen Green-Armytage. Now, it isn't a breeders book - it is a coffee table book, but it has loads of color photographs. I'm sure you could find it used on Amazon.com for not too much. It does have an alphabetical listing of breeds with a mini history of each one. I don't believe that there is a photograph of every breed, but it comes pretty close, and the chickens are set up beautifully. If you want something more authoritative someone else will have to chime in -- I'd be interested in a breeder listing with photographs of rooster, hen and chick for each breed myself! When I had some mystery pullets, I googled the breeds that I thought they were and looked at pictures. The hatcheries also have either drawings or photographs along with a description, so that would give you at least a hint of where to start.

Have fun figuring them out!

I like feathersite.com they have photos of several breed adults and chicks.
