My Marans mixes were born 1 day apart and one has a tail and the other still is just a little stubby [IMG] Still cute. Daddy is Cuckoo Marans and momma is a game hen. They were given to me from the guy I bought my "teenager" chicks from. He actually took the mostly black one "Tina" out of the incubator and handed her to me [IMG]

Hate to say it but pullets get their tails straight away while roos remain with fluffy baby butts for a lot longer. Think you may have a pullet and a roo. [IMG]

Quote:REALLY? I hope you are right! I wanted "Ike" to be a Roo! I'll keep you posted. I just told my DH this morning I should call him Stubby because he has almost no tail feathers, just little stubs compared to Tina! Many thanks all!!!!! [IMG]
