I have a borrowed Barred Rock hen with 4 8-week old chicks. They are all in our dog kennel with a heat lamp and doing very well. I have to give the mama back to her owner sometime and am wondering when I can move them into the roost with the 4 other hens and rooster. It gets pretty cold here at night (sometimes but rarely below freezing) so I could move their heat lamp with them for cold nights. Will the other hens pick on the mama and chicks? Thanks for your advice.

Unless they are unusually mellow the flock will definitely attack the hen and her chicks. I would recommend not trying to integrate them until they are as large as the adult birds.
