3 of my chickens have are blind as their eyes have swollen shut because they have fowl pox.

They can't open their eyes at all.

I am helping them drink and feed as they won't do it on their own.

One of them has its comb and face completely covered in the fowl pow black scabs. I have never had them get it this bad before.

Shall I keep helping them and will they recover.. or will the eyes be damaged? Will their eyes open again when the scabs have fallen off? Its been just over a week since they first caught the virus.. and one has been blind for a week.. the other two only 3 days. The spots were yellow.. now turned to black.

I feel so sorry for them.

When mine had pox I removed the scabs on their eyes so they could see.

How do I do that? They are lots of big black scabs over the eyes.. and they seem stuck hard to the eyelids.. if I pull them they won't come off... I have tried.. and I am scared to injure the eyes. Can I soak them in warm water to soften them first?

    Thanks.
