Is this one a rooster? It is crowing like one when I let them out of the coop.
Hello from Ireland.
I am glad you joined the flock!
If its crowing then probably yes it is a rooster,
But some pictures would help.
I see the picture now. I was just about to post that there was no picture but then it showed up! Definitely a rooster! Pretty boy!!
I have edited original post to include a picture. I was trying to upload but my phone couldn't handle it.
Welcome! Definitely a very handsome rooster. How many hens did you buy? Did they all look like this?
Definatly a rooster.
He is very cute
Shame on whoever sold that bird as a hen.
No, none of the others are like this, it is an outlier. I started with 12 but am down to 9... well 8 hens and apparently 1 rooster. 3 Rhode Island Reds, 5 black brown laying hens and then I rooster... whom we call Duckey. Ha
If you want you can post a picture of them all
And we can tell you if they are hens/roosters,
Thank you all for the assistance! You have all ruined my day! haha Do I need to leave him outside of the coop or is he okay to be in the coop? We are grabbing eggs daily and only getting 3-6 a day so we eat/give away all of them before anything would grow. Haven't researched how to raise a chicken...
