I ordered 10 female chicks this spring, I got them all in good shape. I ordered all females so I thought. Today one of the easter eggers was crowing like a rooster. I thought his/her comb was too red for a hen of 11 weeks.
He turned out to be a very handsome easter egger with a fuzzy face with traces of black that make him look like he has a permanent smile, thus the name smiley! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Well since sexing is only 90% accurate and you got one roo out of 10, I'd say you got your 90%.

I had the same average just about; I ordered 11 pullets and got 10 pullets and 1 roo. Ideal also sent 10 'packing peanuts' so we'll see if the average gives me 1 pullet out of the 10 peanuts! I think one might be but its still a little soon to be sure....
