I know this is a Rhode Island Red but I thought it was a girl for so long now but I am starting to have my doubts.

This one I just don't know about at all. I thought it was a girl but now I'm not so sure. I don't know what kind of chicken it is. I got these both at TSC a couple months ago.

Sorry I don't really have a good body shot [IMG]

All 3 are males. I'm thinking that the middle is a silver laces wyandotte.

If you are right then I've got 4 roos out of a flock of 16. Is that a good combo? I've got two laying hens and the rest are younger than these.

That rate might be a bit heavy on the males, but if they are copacetic, I wouldn't worry. I'm thinking twice about the gender of the SLW. I"m not too sure on the RIR, the feathers look pointed to me, but the detail is difficult to see. If it is a hen, then you'd have 2 males out of 16 birds, that ratio is much better.

Yep all 3 roos! They would be a ok ratio... If I was you I would keep 2 to 16....

I have one roo over 8 hens, and I still have mussed up feathers on all of the girls except one. (I guess she's the outcast.) I wouldn't put more than 2 roos over 16 girls.
As roos, if they have plenty of space they will probably do ok together, especially since they were brooded together.
