Thought they were all girls but I'm beginning to get concerned about Fairy (white and black one) and Princess Aurora (brown one). My daughter will be heartbroken if they are boys, but we are in doubt now.
Thanks! Any one else want to take a stab at it? White and black has begun to try to "crow" although I've read this does not necessarily mean she's a he. She's been acting pretty aggressive, too, but they are literally cooped up at night, so that might make them more aggressive?
Black and white is a rooster. At this age, crowing means rooster. Yes, hens do occasionally crow, but it's pretty rare, and it's older hens who are doing a dominance thing. Young pullets just don't crow. That comb at that age is a giveaway, hackle and saddle feathers will follow as he matures.
Thanks for all the replies! I guess Fairy will have to become Franklin. She (he) is super cute and super smart. I hope to find him a good home. Thanks again!
