Boys or girls? (Silkies)

Picked up these two silkies today- the woman assured me they were females but I am just not so sure. She also said that they are 4 months old but are tiny- did she lie to me or do they grow that much slower than other breeds? I love them regardless, but I won’t keep both if they end up being Roos.

I have no idea about your chicks gender or age just wanted to say they are adorable.

They look like pullets. Size is relative so I don't know what tiny is to you. Silkies are a small breed and mature slowly.

They look younger than four months. Maybe three. Of course I’m not an expert. The black one def looks like a pullet to me. The grey could go either way. They are super cute though!!!

To my eye pullet and cockrel, I'm looking at that 2.5-3 month old potential walnut comb on the bridge of the nose for the brown(partridge) one.

If they are four months old they are likely two pullets. The black one has an incorrect comb type by the way. Both are beautiful.

They both look like pullets, I don’t see streamers on their heads. The black one does have a single comb, silkies have mulberry combs like your grey partridge one does.

I would never "assure" anyone of anything unless I've seen an egg, heard a crow, or had them DNA tested, but that's just me. It's hard to tell by the pictures the gender of these two. Do you have pictures from different angles?

By three months my silkie cockerel had a big mulberry comb and wattles. He also had lots of streamers coming from his crest. The partridge could be cockerel but I’m leaning towards pullet. More pictures from different angles would help!
