BR is broody!!! So excited!!!

I've been trying to borrow/buy an incubator for weeks. The day after I manage to borrow one, my new BR goes broody!!! She was in the nest and another BR sat on her and layed. When I petted her on the back, she gave me "that growl." Haven't heard it in years, but I'd know it anywhere!!! Went back inside and brought the eggs I'd saved from yesterday for the incubator. Gave them to her one at the time. She rolled each of them underneath and then fluffed her feathers!!!

I'm so excited. I know she'll do a much better job with babies in cool weather than we will. She has six BR and RIR eggs underneath her. My good friend is saving Welsummer eggs for me to slip under on Tuesday!!!

I guess she was just spending a little extra time on the nest... Went back out to feed and she was gone. Brought them back in and fired up the incubator.
