Hi I'm new to chickens and looking to purchase around 4-8 bantams this upcoming spring/summer. I've been looking at breeds and like the look of Brahmas and Perkins due their feathery feet and fluffy rounded bodies that give them a cuddly friendly appearance (in my opinion). Are there any real differences between these two breeds with respect to temperament, egg laying and size/height (smaller the better for me). They would be going in a large coop with an open 17x10 ft attached run and occasional access to a large garden. I'm trying to strike a balance between the look of the chicken I really like and the possibility of still getting about 3-5 eggs a week per chicken. Not sure what my chances are!

Thanks I love the look of brahma bantams too. Do Cochins or brahmas lay better and are they both the same size?
