I picked up this pair of feather-footed cuties from an unsorted group of chicks at the Rural King a few days ago. The sign had several possible breeds listed, including Brahmas and Cochins. One is a little bit darker/grayer than the other, but I *think* they're the same? Thoughts on breed and color? I'll try to post regular updates as they grow :)

Brahma have pea combs and cochins have single combs, though I have gotten a single combed brahma, but in general that's the best way to tell them apart.

Brahmas are slow developers - you you'll know if it sprouts a straight comb it's a Cochin.

Buff Brahma was my (uneducated) guess too. I didn't know about the comb and leg color differences, I was just trying to match pictures of chicks online. Thank you for taking the time to respond and educate a chicken newbie!
