Brand new mommy here!! help!

    i have just got 2 five and a half week old pullets/chicks and they are terrorfied of me! i want them to be happy and calm but they seem just so scared wheni open the brooder and try to pick one out. any suggestions?

    Well since they are 5 and a half weeks old they are going to take sometime to come around. Give them treats, talk to them, just get them used to your presence. They'll come around I'm sure. I got some that we already a month old and after a few days 2 of them came around. One I'm still working with but she is getting there.

    I agree. It's harder to tame the older they get. But patients and treats work well! Mine love wet feed, I put it in my hand and let them eat. The more time you spend, the friendlier they will be.

    The oldest I brought home was a 5 week old frizzle Cochin, she loves to sit in my lap. It took her a while to warm up to me.
